About me
Background
I was born in Hong Kong, and moved to San Francisco in the early 1990s. Since then I have attended college at UC Berkeley and have stayed around the SF Bay Area. Currently I am living in Santa Clara, and hang out in the Cupertino/Sunnyvale/San Jose area quite a bit, so if you're around, let me know and we can sync up.
Technical interest
I am into random misc techy stuff. Gadgets, electronics, etc. I'd be more into audio equipment if it wasn't so pricey of a hobby to be in. So I just have a Denon receiver right now, which I eventually hope to replace with some separates.
I am also interested in clean tech, from renewable energy, to smart grid, smart flush toilets and down to using recyclable bags. I am also a student at Stanford University through their Continuing Studies Program, mostly focusing on business and renewable energy market opportunities.
Hobbies
Outside of work, I enjoy playing sports, namely basketball and badminton, on a weekly basis. Recently, I also got into rock climbing, which is surprisingly fun I must say. It's an all body work out, it makes you think a little bit, and it's definitely more fun than lifting dead weights at the gym.
I am very into music, but I go through phases. Back in high school, I was only listening to R&B and Hip Hop (I did listen to some Spanish songs for awhile because of my teacher's influence). Then in college, for a year or two, I was just listening to Korean and Japanese pop, even though I have no idea what they were saying. Towards the middle/end of college, I started listening to a little bit of alternative and whatever else they play on Alice radio. And for the last few years, I've started to listening to a bit of everything: Hip Hop, alternative, Norah Jones, Paul Potts, and Chinese pop, mostly Chinese pop though. And whenever I actually get to this, I'd like to pick up some musical instruments again, probably piano and/or saxophone.
When time permits, I like to have friends over to cook and hang out, and basically just relax. Eventually, I'd like to learn how to bake some pastries because I have a sweet tooth and I love desserts, even though too much sweets is probably not good for my health. I also enjoy doing some light reading when I get around to it, but I will more likely be listening to books instead of reading books because I joined audible.com, and it's much faster to listen.
